EOS CCA dealt attendees a winning hand at thе American Association οf Healthcare Administrative Management (AAHAM) Annual National Institute (ANI) held October 5-7 at The Wynn in Las Vegas, Nevada. Approximately 500 members attended this premier event.
Candice O’Brien, Sr. Vice President, Strategic Business Development, and Ramona C. Hernandez, Vice President , Business Development and Client Relations, teamed up with Denise Cross, Senior Receivables Solutions Consultant at Lexis Nexis and Dan Buell, Senior Vice President, Experian for EOS CCA’s panel discussion, “Leveraging Technology to Navigate Stronger Returns on Collections”, at the conference, the theme of which was “A Winning Combination: Learn. Lead. Connect.” Paul Fitzpatrick, Vice President, Business Development, EOS CCA, moderated the panel discussion.
The panel discussion focused on a number of issues that have troubled healthcare organizations in a down economy, including rising delinquency rates, lower liquidation, and staff trying to effectively manage collections in an extremely bad economy.
EOS CCA’s presentation reviewed the impact of the worst recession in over 70 years on the U.S. economy; the receivables timeline for colleges and universities; and the importance of collecting on older debt. Panel members discussed ways that healthcare organizations can mine internal business intelligence by leveraging technology, data mining, analysis and reporting. Among the suggestions that were made were to:
- provide Patient Service Representatives with access to the best data and technology, to identify the most Right Party Contacts (RPCs) in the least amount of time.
- improve workflows continually to improve self-pay collections and reduce charge-offs.
- implement intuitive solutions that require minimal training and support.
Participants discussed their respective areas of specialization, including how EOS CCA’s company, the California Service bureau, leverages technology to maximize and accelerate cash flow through proprietary analytical programs.
“We were excited to be exhibiting and presenting for the first time,” said Paul Fitzpatrick, a longtime AAHAM member and former president of the Maine chapter of AAHAM. “We were very happy with our survey results – members felt that our presentation was very informative and practical.”
